Sold an AMD Call

I saw an opportunity and I started my week off with an AMD Covered Call.

A week ago I bought 1000 shares of Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) when I did a Buy-Write. I bought the shares at $30.95 and sold the $31 Call. With that Buy-Write I received a premium of 60¢. When the Expiration Date rolled around my Call expired but I was not assigned. I still own the shares.

A few minutes ago, with the stock at $30.60 I sold another Call. This is also a 1 week option to expire this Friday. I sold with the same Strike Price of $31 but this time I received a premium of 52¢. As usual I hope the stock goes up and I get assigned. This is a Covered Call on previously owned stock so this trade gets a Risk Factor 1.

Sell to Open 10 AMD 9/27/19 $31.00 C @ 52¢ (+$520)

Last week I also did a Buy-Write with Square and Dish Network. As with AMD I was not assigned. I’m trying to get another Call sold on both of these holdings. DISH is up a little today but I need it to go up a little more. And Square is a different story. The stock is down about 85¢ today and down $2.50 from where I bought. I’m not too worried because I like the stock but I am a little upset it’s not moving the way I thought it would.

I’ll watch these 2 stocks closely to see what I can do to make money. Things can change quickly!
