Contributing Writer II

I would like to introduce you to Main Street Beats Wall Street’s second contributing writer, Stephen Cunningham Jr. Besides being my son, Steve is an exemplary young man that our entire family is extremely proud of. Academically speaking, he was a superb student. He graduated high school in the top 10% of his very large class and he accomplished this in 3 and a half years. Steve has a love for the arts and studied art history in college. He graduated from the City University of New York with a Bachelors Degree in Art and a Management minor, but as the saying goes: “the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree”, so he decided to follow a more altruistic path to become a New York City Firefighter.  After excelling on the entrance exam, he became a “probie” at the age of 21, and with ambitious fervor immediately started studying to take a very competitive promotional exam and became a lieutenant with only 8 years on the department. With just 16 years on the job, and 37 years old, he was promoted again, and is now one of the youngest Captain on the FDNY.  Steve is a great friend, brother, uncle and son! He is my only son! When you’ve achieved perfection the first time, why disappoint yourself? And on that note, It gives me great pride to introduce my son Stephen to our Main Street beats Wall Street family. Steve Jr,” The Grasshopper”, will be writing all pages in the “Options 101” section pertaining to beginner’s issues. As a Grasshopper himself, he will be writing about issues like managing a smaller account, looking for good deals with lower cost stocks while still getting a good Rate of Return. I’m sure you will love and appreciate Steve’s writing skills and contribution just as much as I do. Welcome aboard, Steve!
