Great Day With Palantir
Palantir (PLTR) Earnings Did Not Disappoint!
Yesterday after the close, Palantir (PLTR) announced their earnings—and they crushed it.
Going into earnings, I was holding 12 call options on the stock:
-
1 with a strike price of $140
-
1 with a strike price of $150
-
10 with a strike price of $155
On Monday, PLTR closed around $160. Just minutes after the earnings announcement, the stock jumped $12 and opened this morning at $171.75.
At 9 a.m., I was packing the car for a trip to Boston (my mother-in-law’s hometown). But I wasn’t getting in the car until after the open. When the market opened, PLTR continued to fly—reaching as high as $176. Meanwhile, the broader market was opening in the red. That was my cue to take profits. I’m in Boston now—getting this post out a bit later than planned.
I sold 10 of the 12 Calls I was holding. Here’s the breakdown:

This is one of my best days of the year. Trades like this are exactly why I created Main Street Beats Wall Street—to show that traders on Main Street can win when they do the research and manage risk.

Palantir’s (PLTR) earnings did not disappoint!

A few minutes after the close, on the announcement, the stock shot up $12 and opened this morning at $171.75.
At 9am today I was packing the car for a trip to Boston, the hometown of my mother in-law. There was no way I was getting into the car until after the open. Palantir (PLTR)
On July 28th, just a week ago, I bought 10 PLTR 1/16/26 $155 Calls at $28. I knew earnings were due soon and I felt Palantir would beat so I bought this large position, but I went with a Strike Price going out to January for protection against the stock going down. I like Palantir so today I only sold 8 of these Calls to keep a little money on the table. The gain is $6488. A 23% return on a large amount of money in 1 week
