Results Week Ending 7/18/25

I had a fantastic week!
But I can’t take all the credit for it — or for the recent past few weeks either. The market clearly likes what this administration is doing, and investors are in full-blown FOMO mode.

That said, I could have had an even better week, but I decided to bail out of a position with Berkshire Hathaway that wasn’t going well. Still, my account is growing despite that hiccup.

The Grasshopper Project is also doing great. I really hope Main Street Beats Wall Street readers are taking advantage of all the work going into this project — I’m doing it for you.

Now, let’s take a look at all of this week’s trades:

Weekly Trades Update

Sofi Technologies (SOFI)

On June 3rd, I sold 5 SOFI 12/19/25 $13 puts. Not long after, the stock went on a nice run. In just six weeks, I was able to lock in $710 of the original $935 premium.

I chose to take the $710 and walk away, rather than wait five more months for the remaining $225. Locking in a solid gain made more sense in this market.

💰 Profit: +$710

Berkshire Hathaway (BRK/B)

I opened this trade on April 29th, along with two others (which I’m still holding). But just a few days later — on May 3rd — Warren Buffett announced he was stepping down as CEO. I should have exited the position right then. The stock has been sliding ever since.

Take a look at the candlestick chart when you get a chance — it’s ugly.

🔻 Loss: -$3,293

Nvidia (NVDA) – Stock Trade

I decided to take a nice profit from a Nvidia stock position and roll those gains into some LEAPS options.

💰 Profit: +$3,160

Nvidia (NVDA) – LEAPS Option

I owned 2 NVDA 12/19/25 $135 Calls. This week I sold one of them to take profit and kept the other for continued exposure.

Palantir (PLTR)

In June I sold 1 PLTR 12/19/25 $125 Put. In six weeks, with a jump in the stock, I had over half of the premium locked in. Again, instead of waiting five months for the additional I decided to get out and put the funds to work elsewhere.

7/16/25 – Buy to Close 1 PLTR 12/19/25 $125.00 P @ $10.50

7/18/25 – Expired

The Grasshopper Project

All trades below are part of the Grasshopper Project. I hope you watch this project closely. My goal is to show how you can grow a small account with low-risk trades. This is the kind of slow-and-steady trading I believe new traders should use to build confidence and consistency.

The project will end on January 31st. If readers enjoy it as a learning tool, I’ll do another one for all of 2026.

The Grasshopper Projected – Cash Secured Put

BigBear.ai (BBAI)

I had a few bucks left in the account, so I sold a Put on a low-priced stock. With BBAI trading at $7.50, I sold the $6.50 Put for $0.30. Sure, it’s just a $30 gain — but it represents an ROI of 4.6%. And since it’s a cash-secured Put, there was no actual investment — just capital held in reserve.

7/14/25 – Sell to Open 1 BBAI 7/18/25 $6.50 P @ 30¢ (+$30)

7/18/25 – Expired → Profit +$30
