Many times I’ll have a great week of trading, bringing in some nice money, but my account will go down because of the many positions I’m holding. On the other hand, many times I’ll have weeks where my trades don’t go as well and my account will go up because my other positions do well.

This week the DOW, NASDAQ and the S & P did well, especially Thursday and Friday. Most of the times when all indexes do well my account will go up. This turned out to be a very nice week because not only did my account do very well but my trades did very well.

Case in point, last week my trading brought in $10,000 and my account went down $7000. This week my trading brought in $9190 and my account went up $21,000.

I’m slowly getting out of some of the crap I’m in and getting more liquid. I plan on starting the new year with a clean slate. Completely out of the “dead wood” I’m carrying. I could jump out of everything now but I feel in the last quarter we could get a move up. Not because I like what the country is doing but because the market normally moves after September.

The last month you saw me getting out of some bad position at a loss. Stocks like INSG, MOMO, HOG and M. Three I just jumped out, with Macy’s I sold an In-the-Money Call trying to get assigned, and I did.

As a Grasshopper Trade on 7/21 I bought 200 shares of XPEV at $42.50 and sold 2 contracts of the $45 Calls. The EV stocks have not been doing well with the chip shortage. I decided to get out of XPEV. The 2 contract Call expired Friday and I was not assigned, but the stock came up to my buy-in price so I sold the stock for the same price I got in. This trade is the lone Grasshopper Trade that expired this week.

I’m sorry I’m not getting many Grasshopper Trades in but I’m working on my strategy for the new year. It will be a mix of my normal “Swing Trades” and some Day Trades. As you see my Master Trades, remember you can always do a 1 contract trade even if I’m doing a 10 contract trade.

Continue to study and be careful. You can make some nice money in this field but it’s not easy! It takes years to really get a good feel for the market and a specific strategy. In the long run it’s worth it!

Please Google Moving Averages (MA). I use the 8 Day MA, the 50 Day MA, the 100 Day MA and the 200 Day MA. I also use the Bollinger Bands. If you want to be good you must study. If not, you’re just gambling. Knowing now to do technical Analysis is very important. Not as much for long term investors but for trading it’s imperative.

There’s another item I want you to learn about. I just started using it with my Day Trading so I don’t have a page on it yet in Main Street beats Wall Street, but you can look it up. It’s the Volume Weighted Average Price (VWAP). You can just Google VWAP and it will come up. For Day Trading it’s very important and I’m finding it very helpful with my Swing Trades.

Let’s take a look at the trades that gave me such a good week. I list my single Grasshopper Trades then I’ll list all my trades that gave me the $9190.

I’m now out of Xpeng (XPEV). As I mentioned, it went up to my buy-in price so I sold the stock position. And my Call expired.

8/23/21 – Sell to Open 2 XPEV 10/15/21 $45.00 C @ $1.85 (+$370)

10/15/21 – Expired 2 XPEV 10/15/21 $45.00 C

Profit +$370

Below is the total gain for my Grasshopper Trade only.

Total Weekly Gain +$370

Below are all trades of the week.

9/21/21 – Sell to Open 10 BTU 10/15/21 $17.00 C @ 45¢ (+$450)

10/15/21 – Expired 10 BTU 10/15/21 $17.00 C

Profit +$450

10/5/21 – Sell to Open 1 TSLA 10/15/21 $860.00 C @ $3.00 (+$300)

10/15/21 – Expired 1 TSLA 10/15/21 $860.00 C

Profit +$300

Assigned Covered Call

10/4/21 – Buy 100 Shares TSLA @ 787.00

10/15/21 – Assigned 100 Shares TSLA @ $810.00

Profit +$2300

9/21/21 – Sell to Open 1 TSLA 10/15/21 $810.00 C @ $6.00 (+$600)

10/15/21 – Expired 1 TSLA 10/15/21 $810.00 C

Profit +$600

CHWY is one of the stocks I can’t wait to get out of.
