This was one of my better weeks in a long time. I know I haven’t been making a lot of Grasshopper Trades, I’m really concentrating on getting my account in the black for the year. But, since I was up 200% for last year, The small amount I’m down really isn’t hurting me, or the money I’m taking as a salary.<\/p>\n
This week’s Grasshopper Trades was limited to only one. I sold a U.S. Steel 4 contract $28 Call. The stock closed at $27.62 so I was not assigned. But I’m in a good position to get another Call sold on Monday. This week’s Call gave me a premium of $280 and that was the extent of the money I brought into The Grasshopper Field.<\/p>\n
I did much better with my entire account. I locked in a profit of $7990 and my account went up $35K. You can see all my trades on my Active Trades<\/a><\/span> page or on my Trade History 2021<\/a><\/span> Page.<\/p>\n Below is the single Grasshopper Trade.<\/p>\n U.S. Steel<\/strong><\/p>\n 8\/23\/21 \u2013 Sell to Open 4 X 8\/27\/21 $28.00 C @ 70\u00a2 (+$280)<\/strong><\/p>\n 8\/27\/21 \u2013 Expired 4 X 8\/27\/21 $28.00 C <\/strong><\/p>\n As you know Microchip (MDHP) announced a 2:1 stock split this week. The split will take place after the close on Oct 12th. I bought a 2 contract Call on the announcement. I sold this Call 2 day later with an $1160 profit. This was a 44% Return on Investment (ROI). Because of the run up after the announcement I think there might be some profit taking this week, or for a day or 2. I’ll be watching closely for another opportunity to buy more Calls.<\/p>\n These are my pre-split positions. Right before the split or the day after the split I’ll be buying more Calls to hold for the post split move. I’m still in a few positions with Nvidia. I have 4 Calls to expire in Jan 2022 and 4 Calls to expire in Jan 2023. I’ll be selling these positions where I see fit.<\/p>\n Of course this $280 is only for the Grasshopper Trade. All my trading, which includes my Master Trades, did a total of $7990.<\/p>\n I’m not a Day Trades, but I love trading. Since I don’t like the way the market is moving I’ve been studying about Day Trading. I really like some of the stuff I’m learning. It gives me the opportunity to make some money without owning stock over night. In this environment I like that. So far I made 1 Day Trade for a $200 profit. I will continue working on this to come up with a strategy I feel is safe. If I like my results I’ll be posting about Day Trading soon. This week I’ll have a goal of $200 a day with small trades.
